BIOKOVO
Biokovo Nature Park or how Croats like to say
“the mountain with roots in the sea and forehead in the lighting” is a unique area of the coastal Dynamic Alps in Croatia. It was declared as a nature park in 1981. The mountain is
above Makarska with the highest peak “Sveti Jure” with its 1762 meters above the sea level.
Biokovo is the second highest mountain range in Croatia located along the Dalmatian coast of the Adriatic sea,
between the rivers Cetina and Neretva. The stunning view of the sea is absolutely gorgeous from all the altitudes. Give yourself the opportunity to enjoy the exploration of all the benefits and beauty of this park.
TELASCICA
Telascica Bay is
located in the central part of the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, in the southeastern part of the island of
Dugi otok. This beautiful and exceptional bay, with its richness and significance, is
surrounded by 13 islands and islets as well as 6 islets within the bay and it was proclaimed a nature park in 1988. It was named after the word
"Tilagus" from the Middle Ages, because it looks like 3 connected lakes that overlap each other.
VRANA LAKE
Lake Vrana is located
in northern Dalmatia, northeast of Pakostane. It is
the largest natural lake in Croatia. Vrana Lake Nature Park offers
many forms of tourism, education and recreation. The specialty of this park is the
richness of fish and the developed sport fishing tourism. It was declared a nature park in 1999 and in 2013 it was included in the list of protected wetlands.
You can also visit Vrana Lake Nature Park by bicycle, since the park has about
50km of bike trails. Vrana Lake is a true oasis of peace, so be sure not to miss the opportunity to visit it.
LASTOVO ISLANDS
Lastovo Islands is
one of the youngest nature parks in Croatia, which was
declared a nature park in 2006. A special feature of the Lastovo Islands is the mystical beauty, dense forests and fertile fields enriched with puddles, land and underwater caves and high coastal cliffs.
The Lastovo Islands are a
group of 44 islands, islets and rocks. Lastovo is the
ideal island for lovers of sailing, fishing, nature and traditional Croatian food, since Lastovo is famous for its lobster. You should definitely go to see this beauty of nature in live. It will be an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
