Gorgeous countryside villa in idyllic surroundings
Miles and miles of idyllic forested hills dotted with olive groves, quaint villages and stone farmhouses are visible from Villa Zvonar, situated on a hillside at the very heart of Central Istria. A large stone farmhouse has been tastefully and sensitively restored to maintain its original charm and peacefulness, to which have been added modern facilities including beautifully appointed ensuite bathrooms, wireless internet, as well as underfloor heating.
The ground floor features a spacious open plan living and dining room with a fully equipped kitchen where you can try your hand at some of the regional cuisine. Beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and a beautiful fireplace provide a lovely inviting rustic ambiance, while the large French doors let in plenty of light during the day and make it look as though there is no end to the view. The three tastefully furnished bedrooms are situated on the upper floor, two of them with a private terrace acting as perfect quiet corners. The same care and attention went into the grounds and garden, which is also an eco garden. The extensive lawns are laced with a variety of flowers, lavender and rosemary bushes, surrounding the inviting swimming pool. The true tranquillity and unique beauty of this magical region can really be appreciated here. An outdoor jacuzzi is at your disposal.

Villa Zvonar is situated in a quaint little village of Rakotule with the stunningly beautiful medieval hilltop town of Motovun at your doorstep. It is known as a town-monument and exudes true Istrian charm and history offering spectacular views across hills blanketed with vineyards, hamlets and farmhouses, and the magical Mirna Valley. Traditional local festivities as well as a renowned international film festival are hosted here, bringing this peaceful little town to life. The number of towns and villages to visit is too long to list; this is the heart of Central Istria, one of the most beautiful spots in the world. It is also famous for local Teran and Malvazija grapes, virgin olive oil, home-made cheeses, prosciutto, barbecued meats, and of course truffles, all of which can be sampled in restaurants within the many villages and towns of the area. There are numerous hiking and cycling trails, one of the most stunning of them being the historical Parenzana old railroad trail which offers a unique ride on a tourist train along the route as well. Horseback riding, round or two of golf or just enjoying in the thermal waters of the nearby spa town add to this long list of activities. The main coastal resorts of Umag, Novigrad and Porec, quickly reached along excellent roads, provide extremely varied leisure facilities, good nightlife, bars and restaurants.
What a beautiful villa this is! Perfect location, very quiet, and beautiful vistas. That, in combination with the very kind and helpful host Patricia, makes villa Zvonar the perfect spot for a wonderful Istria holiday!

Wir wurden sehr freundlich mit selbstgebackenen Kuchen, Obst und Wein empfangen.
Das perfekt ausgestattete Haus ist geschmackvoll und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Lage ist traumhaft und ruhig.
Der gepflegte Garten lässt keine Wünsche offen - genug Schatten, ausreichende (Holz-)Liegen, Kräutertöpfe, Lavendelbeete, etc. Höhepunkt ist der große Infinity-Pool und selbst ein Whirlpool stand uns zur Verfügung.
Den angrenzenden Gemüsegarten durften wir ebenfalls nutzen. Des Weiteren war auch eine Außenküche mit Grill und Feuerstelle vorhanden, welche wir gerne täglich genutzt haben.
Im Haus befand sich eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit hochwertigen Geräten und ausreichend Geschirr.
Der große Kühlschrank hatte einen Eiswürfel-Zubereiter. Das WLAN funktionierte problemlos. Die Schlaf- und Badezimmer waren sehr sauber und gepflegt. Dusch- und Badetücher waren genügend vorhanden.
In wenigen Minuten erreicht man einen Supermarkt und auch Restaurants. Auch das Meer und die Stadt Porec sind schnell erreichbar.
Wir verbrachten sehr schöne Tage in der Villa Zvonar und können dieses Haus gerne weiter empfehlen.
We stayed with a family of 5 and travelled from Amsterdam. The moment you step into the villa and surroundings all stress falls away.. The pictures can’t convey how beautiful and peaceful the surroundings are. The pool is big and great, the garden green, lovely and very well maintained and the view... the view is simply stunning! We travelled with 2 young children and they loved the villa and pool and very big jacuzzi with warm water too. But what made our trip one of the best was Patricia and Mateo. They are very friendly, relaxed and responsive. We had asked them to also provide breakfast and Patricia came everyone morning and prepared a true feast meal. Another major bonus: there is a little plot of land next to the villa where they grow vegetables and watermelons. We were allowed to pluck and eat it!! The kids loved it and the taste of the tomatoes and the watermelon was delicious. On our last day Patricia cooked us a feast lunch and brought presents for the kids. So friendly and helpful! You need a car to get around but within a few kilometers there are Supermarkets and restaurants. Motovun nearby is As must visit town and has really nice restaurants as well. In piece there is enough to do: parasailing, jetski and dolphin watching

Sehr schönes Haus! Der große Infinity-Pool ist ein Traum. Das Meer ist schnell erreichbar, Gleichzeitig genießt man die Freiheit und Ruhe im Zentrum dieses landschaftlich wie kulturell der Toscana in nichts nachstehenden (Trüffel!!!—) Paradieses. Gemüsegarten zu unserer freien Verfügung: Super! Die Vermieter sind ehrliche, freundliche und großzügige Leute. Alle eventuellen Fragen werden beantwortet, Wünsche erfüllt, oder Probleme gelöst. Ganz liebes Willkommen- und Abschiedsgeschenk! Danke Patricia!
Sehr freundliche, grosszügige Gastgeber! Selbstgebackenes und Früchte zum Empfang und auch sonst alles sehr gut ausgestattet. Ein Haus zum Ausruhen und Geniessen, inmitten einer wunderbaren Umgebung mit kleinen entdeckungswürdigen Dörfern auf Hügeln mit Festivals und gutem Essen, schöner Aussicht und sympathischen Hrvatskis. Auch das Meer ist nicht weit. Der Preis ist zwar hoch aber am Ende bereuen wir nichts!
