Villa Penelope is located in Valbandon, a tourist settlement located right on the coast near the picturesque fishing town of Fazana and beautiful Pula, the largest city in Istria. The name Valbandon presumably comes from the Italian medieval expression abandon at which means “abandoned cove”. The close proximity to Pula and Fazana, which is also the port from where you can reach the wonderful National Park Brijuni, makes Valbandon the ideal choice for a more quiet family vacation with kids. Valbandon is one of the two places that make the municipality and town of Fazana. Fazana is known for its excellent gastronomic offer: extra virgin olive oil, vine, prosciutto and sardines. Here you can also find about 60 cycling trails, some of which lead along the beautiful Adriatic coast with a view of the Brijuni islands. There is also a 4km long walking trail along the coast, ideal for romantic walks with your loved one. Fazana is also a place where you can enjoy various water sports: you can rent a jet-ski, speedboat, paddle boat, canoe and bikes. You can also try windsurfing and diving. Nearby you will find the adventure park Jangalooz. Pula is the biggest town on the Istrian peninsula with numerous things to see and explore. Pula was built by Romans in 46. B.C. Although it is like an Antic-open air museum, the biggest monument you should not miss visiting is the famous amphitheatre in the city centre, built in the 1. century. The amphitheatre is still home to many events from concerts, movie screenings to sports gatherings.
