PAF - Pag Art Festival

In a series of festivals held every summer in Croatia, one art festival stands out. It is the Pag Art Festival, which is held every year, during the first half of August on the island of Pag. It was founded in 1999 by pianist Lovro Pogorelic, with the aim to present classical music on the island of Pag, and for that occasion brings prominent Croatian and foreign artists to Pag. Various art programs are held as part of the festival, visitors will be attracted by the location, cultural monuments and excellent food.

Pag is a small renaissance town, known not only for its famous lace and cheese, but also for cultural events to maintain the tradition of the island. During August, the city of Pag hosts this art festival, with performances of classical music under the direction of pianist Lovro Pogorelic. Guided by the idea of ​​enriching the life of citizens and their guests with a content of highest quality, Pogorelic organises this cultural experience for Pag visitors every year.

Every year, musicians from Croatia and other parts of Europe perform among the ruins of the town of Pag. Music artists can show their talent in front of the audience in multiple locations. The Pag Art Festival is taking place at some of the most attractive locations in Pag, in the Old Town, in the fine salt warehouse of the Pag Salt factory, on the Festini boat on the waterfront and in the Skrivanat Tower. Pag has five churches, among which the church of St. Francis hosts the main stage of the festival, with beautiful acoustics, as well as the beautiful church of St. Mary in the old town of Pag.

The Pag Art Festival is entering its third decade, in the sign of discovering new concert locations, with special emphasis on the combination of art and nature, and the coexistence of economy and culture. The festival is also being held in the town of Novalja, the municipality of Kolan and in the northern part of the island, on Cape Lun, famous for its olive groves.This festival is known for combining nature, new locations and art.
