My family and I stayed at Villa Darko this summer 2022, after 3 long years of waiting for an overseas holiday due to the pandemic. It was certainly worth the wait and we had an amazing time here!
The owner, Darko met us upon arrival and was super friendly and helpful, even offering us a lift into own to fetch some groceries :-)
The villa itself is perfect, as it was me and my partner and two children the kids could stay in one of the two accommodations and we stayed in the other, so everyone had their own bedroom and some privacy if they needed it, and with two bathrooms there was never any queues for the shower in the morning.
Another benefit with the villa is the amount of space! Both buildings are very large with tons of space, and the grounds of the property are also very large and also very pretty and well maintained. The outdoor dining and BBQ area was a particular favourite of mine, and the pool was perfect too! The villa is fully equipped and you have everything you need for a convenient and comfortable stay.
The small town of Svetvincenat is a very short 2 minute drive away and is lovely and peaceful, but has a handful of fantastic bars and restaurants. I definitely recommend La Casa Mimi's, a real treat. There is also the castle which is a great centrepiece for the town, and to visit is actually great fun and very interactive. There is also a small supermarket that has every essential you'll need.
One of the best things about staying here was that you are only 20 - 30 minutes drive maximum from plenty of amazing larger towns, beaches, national parks etc so there's lots to do to keep you occupied, and everywhere is really easy to get to, and the roads are all very good and very quiet. Make sure you visit Rovinj - Pula - Fazana - Brijuni Islands.
If you need transfers and car hire I found that Greenway who My Stria recommended were very good indeed! Really helpful and professional, and the car hire rates were much better than any other companies I'd researched. We got a great quality, almost new car to use and the transfers they arranged for us to and from the airport were also brilliant. Only thing I would suggest is to check the sat nav they provide with the car as ours was an old Garmin unit that didn't; work very well., but other than that everything was spot on.
I'd thoroughly recommend a stay at Villa Darko, we made lots of lovely memories there and in Croatia overall.
